Hi my name is Kenneth Clark, and I am 22 years old. I live in Michigan and have owned pit bulls for many years. I became fascinated with pit bulls when I seen their body structure, big heads, wide chest and ripped legs. My mom said that I could get a pit bull when I was able to get a job and become responsible. By the time I graduated high school I got a full time job, at the first opportunity I bought one. It was black and white with a thick frame and huge head. I made sure he was kept up to date with all his vaccinations and fed well. I named him Duce and he was not just a pet, he was a huge part of our family and was treated like it also. Through the years Duce and I became companions and everywhere I went he went with me, regardless. If I was walking or just riding in the car he showed great companionship. One day I was walking Duce and came across my neighbor "Dan" who had blue pits for sale. This was the first time I had saw a blue pit bull before and I thought they were sweet so I had to get one. A couple of days later I went over there and bought a blue puppy. Dan named him Blue Blade because he was all blue with a white blade going down his forehead and a white chest, but I decided to call him "Diego" As soon as I bought Diego he began to play with Duce. They both started to wrestle and play with each other. Soon they were like brothers, they did everything together and everything they did, they did just alike. I myself made sure I spent quality time with Duce and Diego by taking walks a couple times a day and play wrestle with them just so they understood they were loved and they knew it. On Sept. 5, 2007 I took Duce and Diego for a walk and when we got back home Duce did not want to go inside the house so I put him in our fenced back yard.

While at work I received a phone call from my Mother telling me that Duce had gotten out of the fence, so I left work as soon as I could to go look for him. I looked all night for Duce, then next morning I went to the pound to see if he was there. With no luck, I left a picture of Duce and my contact number just in case someone were to drop him off there. The next morning the door bell rang, I ran as fast as I could thinking someone had found Duce and was returning him home. Instead, there was bad news, the news was that he had been killed by a Police Officer. He claimed that he was whistling at Duce to try and get him into his car. As soon as Duce started running towards the officer he got scared and his reaction was to shoot at him. I was heart broken for a while, I still miss him till this day. About a year later I had met a girl named "Alyssa" who soon became my girlfriend. She feel in love with Diego as soon as she met him. She loved him so much that she asked my mom if he could come with her and I. My mom was so attached to him that she was hesitant but let Alyssa because she was moving out of state anyways. Later after Diego moved in with us, Alyssa wanted to get her own Blue Pit. We found a beautiful blue puppy on terrificpets.com . The puppy was a blue female and as soon as she seen the puppy she had to have her. We went to pick her up in Detroit when she was 8 weeks old. As soon as I seen here I wanted to call her "Nala". Once we brought her home Diego treated like she was his sister. They played together for hours and they still do that till this day. Nala and Diego have mated and now have a litter of pups, two of them are shown on the home page of this site. A friend of mine introduced me to Ron who had the same passion for pit bulls as I did. Ron and I sat down and decided to start our own kennel together. We were so persistent with our goal, that within two weeks we had our kennel started. This is how Ravenswood Blue Pitbull Kennel was established. We love our dogs and their puppies as we would our own children. They are given a lot of love and attention that they appreciate and they do the same in return. We are a family, not just pet owners that only care about mating and making money. Our goal is to prove that pit bulls are not vicious like people stereotype them to be. They need the same love and attention as human beings and to be accepted as family members.
